我朋友最近在整裡謝馬雙方的競選廣告。用 Youtube 聯影片然後利用 wiki 來做文字紀錄。 有興趣的可以來看一看,有空的可以來幫幫忙。
A friend of mine has been organizing the TV commercials for the presidential campaign in Taiwan. The commercials are embedded youtube videos, while text are transcribed using the wiki platform (Chinese only so far). If you are interested you can check it out, and if you know Chinese maybe you can add an English translation for the transcript!

They can go ahead and believe that God created the world in 6 days, with dinasour fossils in it. But please don't tell me that science supports the claim that those fossils belong to dinasours that co-existed with humans a few thousand years ago. Science doesn't do that, faith does. I'll respect their faith, as long as they don't make incorrect statements about which claims science supports. |

How does a Canadian feel on July Fourth? How does a Buddhist feel on Christmas? How does an Apple computer feel about the latest cool 3D computer game released for Windows? How does a single-parent high school substitute teacher feel about Republican's latest tax break? How does a penguin feel about Valentine's Day?

| » Breast cancer |
I've just learned that my aunt Huang Yu-Mei passed away Tuesday morning. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last May. She didn't want to take chemical therapy, and instead opted for some Chinese herb medicine treatment that didn't work out.
Aunt Yu-Mei was the youngest of either of my parents' siblings, yet she is the first to pass away. It wasn't very many years since her mother's (my grandmother's) death either.
Time is so relentless.

After increasing my calorie intake by about 70% for a month (counting from Thanksgiving), I made it to 53.5kg by the time I went back to Taipei (no I don't know how much I weighted beforehand). After staying in Tapiei for about 10 days, I got up to 54.5kg.
On an unrelated note, I really hate the quarter system.

| » Help! - How to gain weight in 20 days |
Every time my mom sees me she nags about how I look thinner than ever and stuff. Thus to minimize my anxiety from being nagged, I want to gain as much weight as possible over the next 20 days.
Things I'm currently planning on doing: * Bike to classes (given the same distance traveled, biking burns less calories than walking, if I take it easy) * Sleep right after lunch (my big meal of the day) * Drink lots and lots of water (hopefully to gradually increase my body's capacity for water, which is denser than most other things in a human body) * Eat a minimum of 2 meals a day
Things I'm unlikely to do: * Unlikely to spend lots of time to acquire or prepare food, clean-up, or travel to the food. Thus no cooking or eating out at far-away places (luckily I live on the same block as In'n'out). * Unlikely to spend lots of time eating, unless I can multi-task it with doing homework or surf the web etc. * Unlikely to drink beer. I know beer makes one fat, but it's not enough to motivate me from my current stance of not drinking.
If anyone has other suggestions, please help me out. Thanks!
---- on an unrelated note, just found out Facebook notes can import from blog entries. I haven't been blogging much, so the most recent 25 entries goes back all the way to May... orz

| » I'm not a hypocrite |
Those who cannot do, teach. That's the reason why I don't practice what I preach(teach).
To teach is to learn twice. Through figuring out what advice to give and how to encourage others I try to brainwash myself into a better person against my incapability to listen to my own advice & encouragements.
um, not to mean I'm just using those people, as I wouldn't bother giving advice or encouraging people I don't care about even though that's another opportunity to brainwash myself.

I think I finished my homework due 25.5 hours from now. However, I have no confidence how many questions I got right.
It's not often that I finish my homework this early. Nor is it often that I'm not sure if I got homework problems correct or not (I usually either just believe they are right, or know they are wrong).

Art Teacher Loses Job After Kids See Nude Sculpture Children Were On School-Approved Field Trip http://www.nbc10.com/education/9936513/detail.html
I knew Texas is a conservative state, but I surely hope the parent's reaction and the school board's decision are not representative of the values of the general Texas population.
If you really have a problem with Elementary kids seeing nude sculptures at museums, go tell your legislators that muesums should require ID checks to block kids under 18. Don't go picking on the art teacher for taking your kids on a field trip to a muesum after YOU have signed the permission slip.

Approximately 40% of my shirts are green. Thus more often than not people see me wearing a green shirt.
I didn't know it was the Cal Homecoming this past weekend, and it was quite by luck that when I went to Berkeley on Saturday I happened to be wearing a Blue plus gold trimming poloshirt from my highschool (my highschool's color was also Blue & Gold) instead of wearing a green shirt (Oregon, the school Cal played against that day, is green).
Go bears! I wasn't there for the football game actually, and only saw part of the game on TV afterwards. At one point the TV station replayed footage from "The Game" because the actual football game was so boring o_O"""
The BBQ was fun. My eyes, face, and neck feel a little sunburned. I remembered a few more new faces... I think.
Oh yeah, the Yankees lost to the Tigers, a pity.
In other news, I never got started building the MG Ball. I got as far as touching the box, but decided I really didn't have the luxury of time yet to work on it. Maybe next week.

世紀末戦隊ゴレンジャイ
This is a parody of Goranger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Himitsu_Sentai_Goranger), the oldest ancestor of all the Japanese sentai shows (as well as Power Rangers).
Episode 1 introduces the "heroine". When she is assaulted by the evil "Skull Mask", the 5 heroes of justice -- "Gorenjai" come to the rescue.
The members of the Gorenjai are Red Renjai (Akarenjai), Yellow Renjai (Kirenjai), and ...?

"Dear reader,
When you finish reading this sentence, you will no longer retain your full potential in the arcane arts. By the time you finish reading this page, you will only have nine tenth of the potential that was born with you. Such is the relationship between Magic and Knowledge - the more you know, the less your magical potential is. Anyone who fully understands Magic will completely lose the ability to perform it.
The most powerful practicioners of Magic are the ones who can simply cast their magic when they need to, without knowing how they did it. They can only be found in legends." - The Art of the Arcane, Prologue
---- That's a sci-fi style overview of Magic, for the fantasy world that I will probably never get around to fully setup. The best way to understand the Magic in that world would be through an analogy with quantum mechanics. Magic is the manifestation of quantum states in the macroscopic world, protected/purified/error-corrected by the brainwaves of the mage. However, possession of knowledge causes the memory braincells to perform certain measurements on the brainwave, which in the end causes the magic to be weaker.
